Raúl captures Capello's heart

Fabio Capello's revamped Real Madrid CF are on their way in UEFA Champions League Group E after a comfortable win against FC Dynamo Kyiv. Raúl González ended a long scoring drought with two goals, a number matched by Ruud van Nistelrooy with another arrival from an English club, José Antonio Reyes, also on target. To complete the celebrations at the Santiago Bernabéu, Ronaldo came off the bench for his first competitive appearance of the season after knee surgery. For Dynamo, though, a second heavy defeat in the group has left coach Anatoli Demianenko in introspective mood.

Fabio Capello, Madrid coach
Raúl is a very important player in this team and not just for his goals. Tonight he scored in an important game. Ronaldo needs time to improve his physical condition but it is good to see him again in a competitive match. We need to improve many things - Dynamo had chances in this match but we have the skill of scoring goals. We always have to evaluate our opponents. Dynamo could be a dangerous team playing more attacking football.

Anatoli Demianenko, Dynamo coach
Madrid are a very strong team but we made big mistakes. Our defence was very weak tonight and Real exploited that. I need to watch the video of the game to reach my own conclusions. My players think this is the way to play but I think they must fight more. If a player doesn't want to play he won't do it but if he wants to, he must do it well. Real are a very good team and I think that they will probably play in the final.
