UEFA club competition milestones
• Dynamo Kyiv have reached the semi-finals of the European Champion Clubs' Cup on three occasions. The first time came in the 1976/77 campaign, losing 2-1 on aggregate to VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach. They then lost 4-2 over two legs to FC Porto in the 1986/87 season.
• The third time Dynamo reached the last four came in the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League. After a 3-3 draw at home against FC Bayern München, Dynamo missed out on the final with a 1-0 loss in Germany.
• Dynamo have twice won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, in the 1974/75 and 1985/86 seasons, recording a 3-0 victory each time. They beat Ferencvárosi TC in Basel and then Club Atlético de Madrid in Lyon.

• Dynamo return to the group stage after a one-year absence following their elimination at the second qualifying round stage to FC Thun at the start of the 2005/06 season. They booked their place in the group stage with a 5-3 aggregate success against Fenerbahçe SK having earlier negotiated the second qualifying round thanks to an 8-1 aggregate defeat of FHK Liepajas Metalurgs.

Domestic record: Eleven-time champions of Ukraine since 1992, Dynamo finished level on 75 points with FC Shakhtar Donetsk, which meant a play-off was required to determine the champions. Shakhtar won 2-1 after extra time. Dynamo claimed the Ukrainian Cup with a 1-0 win against FC Metalurh Zaporizhya.
European record: Dynamo had an aborted campaign in the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League, losing at the first hurdle. They were beaten 3-2 on aggregate in the second qualifying round, which meant they did not even transfer to the UEFA Cup.
