Fabio Capello Focused on Steaua Bucharest: "We have to believe in ourselves and show them we are Real Madrid"

Fabio Capello talked to the press on Monday and talked about the meeting he held with the squad after Saturday's match against Getafe. "It was the right moment to talk to them, and I'm very happy with how the meeting went," said the Italian coach. The best way of forgetting about Saturday's defeat is winning against Steaua Bucharest. "We know where we went wrong," said Capello. "We'll try to correct our mistakes.

What did you say to your players in the training session after the match against Getafe?
It was an important and necessary meeting. We talked about many things and some problems we have to work on. I'm happy with how the meeting went.

What problems does the team have?
We know what they are, but it is something that concerns only us.

Will you change the starting lineup on Tuesday?
Ramos and Cannavaro are very important. We need all our international players. I have one more day to think about the starting eleven.

Are you aware that people in Spain have their doubts about you?
I always wait until the end of the season to see if I have failed or not, and to judge people. The press have doubts about me, but I'm not worried because we are working hard. Things sometimes go wrong, but we are still working hard.

Which is the most important title for you, the League or the Champions League?
They are the two most important titles of the season and we are fighting to win them both. We'll have a title by the end of the season.

The fifty days you said would be necessary for the team to perform well have already gone by.
I don't like to make excuses. We played very badly against Getafe, and that's why I talked to my players. It was the right moment to do so.

Is the fact that your players don't have their heart in it what worries you?
We can't be the team we were in Getafe. My team used to be able to fight and know how to play in unfavourable situations, so that's why I talked to them.

Could some of the players who have played the least be lined up on Tuesday?
Robinho played against Getafe, and he has played less than the others. When a team loses, people always say the best players are those who didn't play.

Isn't this match more important than the clash with Barcelona? Sure it is. The match against Barcelona is also important, but there are more matches in the League than in the Champions League.

Did you talk to Ronaldo after the match?
I did, and we are trying to see if we can appeal the second yellow card.

Are you finding it hard to change the team's mentality?
One always has to work on that. We have to believe in who we are. We are Real Madrid, and we have to play like Real Madrid. We can't fear losing.

What are Steaua Bucharest's strong points?
They are a good team. I've watched their two Champions League matches so far. They are very dangerous in set plays, and their counterattack is very fast and very good.

What do you think will happen in the two matches against Steaua?
I don't have a crystal ball, so I can't predict who will win each match. All I know is we need to play a good game tomorrow.
