Ramón Calderón: "Marcelo is thrilled"



After signing contract agreements between the Real Madrid Foundation and the Community of Madrid, Real Madrid President Ramón Calderón spoke to the media about the latest Madridista incorporation, the Brazilian Marcelo.

“I think he's a very important addition. He's a young players that will bring freshness and happiness to the Club.”

“Real Madrid are on course and chugging along, and we will continue working so that Members have everything they want.”

“Roberto Carlos has been resigned for one more year, just like he wanted. I am very happy, but Marcelo has come to be his substitute when he decides to give up his spot. [Marcelo] is 18 years old and will be sticking around for a while.”

“The kid really liked the Stadium. He's thrilled to be here and we're very happy to have the pearl that half of Europe was after. He chose Real Madrid, and what needed to happen, did. The best players half to be here.”

Real Madrid CF and Fluminense reach agreement for the transfer of Marcelo

Real Madrid CF wish to announce they have reached an agreement with Fluminense for the transfer of Marcelo Vieira Da Silva Júnior, "Marcelo." Real Madrid's new 18-year old left fullback will join the Club in January, at which time his contract through June 2012 will begin. Marcelo will be officially presented on Wednesday at 12 pm CET at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
