Official: Real Sign Higuain
Real Madrid have confirmed that Gonzalo Higuain will be joining the club in January after they agreed a fee with his club River Plate.
The Argentinian is considered one of South America’s hottest young talents and is set to be presented by the club on Thursday 21 December at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium's Presidential balcony.
Higuain has agreed a deal that will take him through to 30 June 2013, Real confirmed on their official website.
The player is believed to have cost in the region of 13 million euros and comes equipped with an EU passport as he was born in France.
A number of clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United were said to be interested in the youngster, but Real always appeared most serious about their interest as they look to rejuvenate an ageing front-line.
Higuain could soon be joined by Real’s other major January target Fernando Gago of Boca Juniors.
