Capello pleased: "I liked the team's spirit"

Capello was satisfied with tonight's result against Betis. "It's not easy to draw on this pitch," said the Italian boss, who was satisfied with the performances of his new players and who saw a Real Madrid with more scoring chances in the second half.

“It's not easy. We were missing several key players. I liked the team's spirit. I am pleased. [Betis] had two opportunities in the first half, and so did we. But in the second we had more chances. A 0-0 draw isn't a bad result here. They were very motivated coming off a win on Sunday. Everyone did a good job. Those who are used to football from other continents have to get used to the European style. Torres also had a solid performance.”

“Roberto Carlos has what looks to be a serious problem with his calf. It's causing him a lot of pain. Betis look like a totally new team and did very well. We did well stopping their pushes forward. It was a level match in my opinion. A draw on the road isn't bad.”

“I am pretty sure Torres will play on Sunday. He's got a lot to offer. He's not scared at all.”
