Cristiano Ronaldo Tongue-Tied Over Real Madrid Link
Cristiano Ronaldo knows all about Real Madrid's interest in him, but he isn't talking. The Manchester United star has been told to keep a tight lip over reports linking him with Real Madrid.
"I know about the interest of Real Madrid," Ronaldo acknowledged to AS, before admitting, "I cannot say anything about it."
Ronaldo has been in sensational form for the current Premiership leaders, and it is no surprise the winger is being linked with another famous club. Real are thought to be preparing a summer swoop for Ronaldo.
"I spoke with (Manchester United assistant and compatriot) Carlos Queiroz and Alex Ferguson and they banned me from talking about Real Madrid," revealed Ronaldo.
Ronaldo famously helped get United teammate Wayne Rooney sent off for stomping on Ricardo Carvalho's groin during the Portugal v. England match during the World Cup, though the Portuguese international's case was supported by video evidence. Questions abounded, however, whether or not Ronaldo could return to England and deliver the goods knowing full well his popularity in the country was at an all time low.
"You must understand, I don't want to create problems for myself," Cristiano added.
