Van Nistelrooy scores brace: "We changed our mentality in the second half; we played stronger and the goals came"
The Real Madrid striker was one of the stars of the evening, having signed a brace which sentenced the match. After the game, Van Nistelrooy was happy with the victory and pleased with the attitude of the team in the second half. “At halftime, neither us, nor the manager, nor the fans were satisfied,” stated the Dutchman.
“Five goals is a good result for us. We did not do well at all during the first half, but we more than made up for it during the second. We changed our mentality, played stronger, pressurised... and the goals finally came.”
