Ramon Calderon: Gago Will Play In Coruña
Gago Will Play In Coruña, Assures Calderon Following what is rumoured to be a conclusive dinner meeting between Pedja Mijatovic and Marcelo Lombilla, the players agent, Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has declared that Fernando Gago should be available to play against Deportivo on the 7th of January.
"It [Gago's signing] is something that is going to happen soon," said Calderon. "There is no hurry.
"There is time, and I can wait until January 7, when he will play [against Deportivo] in Coruña, if the coach considers it appropriate."
The road-block had been the fact that Real had been unable to agree a price with Boca Juniors, but these comments confirm that some significant agreement was reached during Thursday evening's dinner meeting between Mijatovic and Lombilla.
Calderon went on to speak about the club's start to the season, labelling it "extraordinary."
"I have read that this is the best start to the League season in the history of Barcelona, and we are just three points behind them," he said. "We have won five of six away games.
"We have also qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League with two games to spare. There is great happiness about everything, because I believe that the team is going to do some great things."
He also spoke about the problems between Diarra and Salgado during Thursday's training. "I am unable to recall such a spirit of friendship [in the dressing room]," he said, before going on to suggest that such incidents merely indicated that there was "a lot of intensity during training."
