Ronaldo Deal Not Today-Galliani

Adriano Galliani

AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has confirmed the deal bringing Brazilian super-star Ronaldo to Italy is still on hold.

“Ronaldo won’t arrive today,” Galliani told reporters on Wednesday morning.

“I met once again with Real Madrid’s sports director Franco Baldini. The talks are ongoing, we will talk again soon,” he added.

Baldini arrived in Milan last night to negotatiate with the Milan management.

This is a step forward in the deal, as until yesterday AC Milan only had the player’s ok, while they hadn’t even begun talks with Real.

The Spanish club is said to want 10 million euro (US$13 million), well below Milan's unsuccessful offer of 22 million euro (US$28.6 million) five months ago.
