Del Bosque: Real Should Have Kept Ronaldo

Former Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque believes the club has made a mistake in offloading Ronaldo to Milan.

The Brazilian was sold to the San Siro giants for 7.5 million euros after coach Fabio Capello made it clear he did not want him in the squad.

"Real need Ronaldo at the moment and it would have been better to have integrated him into the squad because the team hasn't got that many strikers," Del Bosque was quoted as saying in Marca.

"He unites the dressing room more than he divides it and as a player he has all the natural instincts of a striker."

Milan originally wanted to sign Ronaldo on a free transfer but eventually agreed a fee for the former Inter star.

Real have not won a trophy since Del Bosque was discarded by then president Florentino Perez after winning the league in 2003.
