Capello demands more: "We lack continuity"

Fabio Capello is an inconformist and demands more from his team. In a press conference, he said this Real Madrid is capable of doing more, "although we have to give credit to Racing, who were in good form," he added. The Italian coach also said that "no time has been lost in the recovery of Beckham" with the English player's trip to Rome.

"We had many chances of scoring. They were dangerous in two occasions, with a set piece and a header by Zigic. The final result may seem a bit excessive, but we deserved it. In the first half, we could have scored through Guti and two passes into the box. Raúl managed to score a goal, but it wasn't allowed. Racing were going through a good moment because they hadn't lost seven consecutive matches. They positioned themselves well and fought hard. Zigic proved to be a very dangerous striker."

"We played very well at times, but we also relaxed. We still don't have continuity, but we also have to give our opponents some credit."

"I was going to replace Guti with Nieto, but he was shown the red card. Now he will miss next week's match, and the kid didn't even get his chance of making his debut in the Bernabéu. I've been told Guti made a fowl, but to be honest, I was looking in another direction at the moment it happened. I'm not angry about it, but I'm disappointed."

"Beckham was in Rome with Club's leave. He was in Real Madrid City this morning. We let him travel because the doctor said he could. He hasn't missed a single minute of recovery work."

"Diarra and Emerson are now playing as well as they used to in their previous teams. We have to be patient with new players because they have to adapt to a new style and fit in to a new squad."

"Casillas only had a great save, and it was in a set piece. Then, Racing scored in another set piece. Roberto carlos saved a ball on the goal line and we gave them an easy chance to score at the end of the game."

"During training sessions, we worked on some things to stop Zigic that worked well."
