Real Madrid Seal Marcelo Deal
Real Madrid have successfully negotiated the transfer of young Brazilian left-back Marcelo.
Los Merengues will pay a fee of 7 million Euros (6 to Fluminese), and sign the Brazilian on a five year deal.
However, Marcelo does not have a European passport, so if he does move over the winter, he will have to be loaned out immediately.
Real and the player's agent are currently deliberating whether to leave him in Brazil until June, or to loan him out in Spain for six months.
It is clearly a signing for the future, with Roberto Carlos also set to sign on with the club.
The 18-year-old has already broken into the Brazilian national team as Roberto Carlos's under-study, and is set to take on similar duties at the Bernabeu.
The player is regarded by many as a clone of Roberto Carlos - just as fast up the left, and with a cracker of a left foot.
After signing quite a few players on the wrong side of 30 over the summer - obviously with a view towards short term success with Capello - Real's decision to step in and secure the services of a young promising player is being welcomed by many.
