Highlights Of The Calderón Outburst

Ramón Calderón’s declarations about the current state of the nation at the White House have made waves in Spain, but what did the President actually say in his meeting with a group of university law students?

According to Spanish radio station cadena COPE, whose source is one of the students who attended the meeting, the exec hit out with a tongue-lashing aimed at various targets, most publicly known for the Beckham attack, but what did he say according to the transcripts?

David Beckham

"David Beckham is going to be a part-time actor in Hollywood. The fact that we were right to let him go is that despite being out of contract soon we’d heard nothing from any major club"

Florentino Pérez (ex-Real Madrid President)

"Florentino Pérez, who hasn’t supported me at all, talked with Silvio Berlusconi [AC Milan owner] and told him to renew Kaká, and Berlusconi put pressure on to renew him."

Guti

"Raúl started at the same time as Guti but tat one [Guti] is still a ‘promise’ at 31 years of age.”

Real Madrid Squad

"There’s vanity, ego, everybody thinks they’re the star... a Real Madrid player never pays when he goes out [and although] you [law students] are educated they generally aren’t."

Salaries

"Iker Casillas gets nine million [Euros] a year and Diego López [his reserve] earns just 300,000 Euros."

The Bernabéu

"It’s a stadium that people flock to like a theatre. People here don’t really support their teams like in England or Italy so they express their discontent more readily."
