Spain's squad list: Casillas, Ramos and Reyes called up to play Sweden; Raúl left off
Spanish national team coach, Luis Aragonés has submitted the squad list for the 2008 European Championship qualifier against Sweden and the friendly versus Argentina. It was a very anticipated teamsheet, as it wasn't known if Raúl would be included or not. Aragonés finally decided to leave the long-time captain off, as well as Pernía, Morientes, Joaquín and Vicente.
The Spanish national team assured that they hadn't previously spoken to the until-now captain of the team to inform him of their decision. This is the first time Raúl has not been called up by the Spanish national team since 9 October 1996 against the Czech Republic.

# Atletico: Antonio López, Pablo Ibáñez, Fernando Torres.
# Arsenal: Cesc.
# Barcelona: Iniesta, Puyol, Xavi.

# Espanyol: Luis García.
# Liverpool: Reina, Xabi Alonso, Luis García.
# Real Madrid: Casillas, Reyes, Ramos.
# Valencia: Albelda, Villa, Ángulo.
