Cassano Suspended By Real Madrid
Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano has been suspended from training following a post-match incident this weekend.
The Italian has started only a handful of games for Real Madrid this season and played no part in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Gimnastic.
A statement from the club said the Italian had shown 'a lack of respect' for coach Fabio Capello after the game but gave no details of what occurred.
Spanish newspaper reports have claimed that Cassano confronted Capello and demanded a more regular place in the side.
"I deserve to play and be a starter," sports newspaper AS quoted Cassano as saying to Capello.
Real Madrid also confirmed that Cassano would be fined for his conduct as well.
The length of his suspension was not specified.
