Raúl, twelve years in Primera: Sunday will be the Real Madrid captain's 12th anniversary in Spain's First Division

Sunday marks Raúl González Blanco's 12th year since the Real Madrid captain debuted in Spain's First Division. Number '7' will try to celebrate his milestone one day prior when the Whites take on recenty promoted Nastic in Tarragona.

A distant memory is 29 October 1994 when then Real Madrid coach Jorge Valdano gave a young 17-year-old his Primera Liga debut at La Romareda Stadium. He took giant strides in a matter of months, making the leap from the junior team straight to the First Team. If you consider Real Madrid lost the match 3-2, and that the debutant missed three great scoring opportunities, you might think the doors to success would have been slammed shut on Raúl González Blanco.
