Fabio Capello:"I'm certain we'll play a responsible game"

He will speak of nothing but the meeting against Dynamo Kyiv. “Sevilla is not on our minds,” said Fabio Capello bluntly, who feels quite strongly that this kind of games need great doses of motivation regardless of having secured a spot in the Last 16 stage. “This is the Champions League,” said the Italian coach, who wants commitment out in the pitch, something that he has for sure conveyed quite clearly to his entire squad and underlined profusely during the press conference prior to the game tomorrow.

How is the team doing?
Everyone who is here is fit to play. There are many habitual starters who have stayed back in Madrid. We came with a bunch of B-teamers here, but youth players are more than ready to play a competitive match.

Do you want Barcelona to go through to the next stage?
We're Real Madrid, not Barcelona. I'm thinking of my team and not of Barça.

How do you motivate your team in a game of this sort?
It's not necessary. This is a Champions League match and motivation is a given. We're not thinking of Sevilla; our minds are fully set on Dynamo.

How are the injuries progressing?
Cannavaro's injury is improving. Emerson has been playing with a periostitis or shin splint inflammation. I am almost sure that they will be able to play in Seville.

Who will you line up in defence?
You'll see tomorrow.

What do you think of Dynamo Kyiv?
They have good players. They could have scored a few goals in Madrid. Here, they're even more dangerous, with their fans cheering them on. But I'm sure we'll play a competitive game.

What do you think of the upcoming stage?
We'll see how we do in the draw. That's the key factor. We're thinking of the next game only... after that, we'll see.

Do you have a starting eleven in mind?
Yes, but I won't tell.

Is Adrián González bearing more pressure because he's the son of Castilla coach Michel?
I just hope he has fun.

How can the extreme cold affect the players?
In Turin and Milan it gets extremely cold always, so I have no problems with low temperatures. It's not so much about the weather anyway, but about the conditions of the turf.

Will Diarra be your improvised solution in defence?
You'll see tomorrow.
