Sir Alex Ferguson: C.Ronaldo talk nonsense
Sir Alex Ferguson has described as nonsense reports linking Cristiano Ronaldo with Real Madrid as he makes plans to add to his Manchester United squad.
Speculation in Spain has claimed that Real president Ramon Calderon is putting together a bid for Portuguese winger Ronaldo.
But Ferguson was quick to dismiss the rumours, insisting there has been no contact with United's Spanish counterparts.
"That's nonsense," said Ferguson. "First of all they haven't made an offer anyway.
"That's not even worth talking about, it's not even an issue for us."
United are still chasing Owen Hargreaves, but Ferguson admits there has been no recent progress after Bayern Munich admitted they could sell the midfielder at the right price.
Ferguson added: "There's no progress at the moment, there's nothing to report on that."
The Premiership leaders have already brought in Henrik Larsson during the January transfer window and Ferguson is not ruling out further arrivals.
He added: "We may sign someone in January, there may be a couple of signings in January.
"Who knows? We are looking at some things."
