Ronaldo Returns

With Míchel Salgado still recovering from his injury and the last-minute absence of Pavón due to a bruise on his left knee, the main novelties in the squad call-up for Sunday's derby against Atletico Madrid are Ronaldo and Helguera. This is the first time this year that both players have been called up for a League match.

Eighteen players will gather for pre-match preparation this evening at 8:30 pm CET in the Hotel Mirasierra Suites. The coaching staff already knew that they would not be able to play Salgado, who is still recovering from his knee injury, but there was a last-minute setback, with Pavón out due to a niggle. The centre back did not train today due to a bruised left knee and has not been called up. His spot will be covered by Helguera, who has made the short list for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Brazilian star Ronaldo made the teamsheet for the second consecutive time after being called up against Dynamo Kyiv on short notice due to Van Nistelrooy's fatherhood on exactly the same day of the match. This time, Real Madrid's number '9' has made the list after playing the last ten minutes of the Tuesday Champions League clash because Capello wants him to slowly start recovering his playing form and build the necessary pace for the different competitions. He will probably feature a few minutes during the Sunday Primera Liga game as he did four dys back.

TEAMSHEET:
Keepers: Casillas and Diego López.
Defenders: Roberto Carlos, Raúl Bravo, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Helguera and Mejía.
Midfielders: Beckham, Diarra, Emerson, Reyes, Guti, Robinho and Cassano.
Forwards: Ronaldo, Raúl and Van Nistelrooy.
Not called up: Salgado, Pavón and Cicinho, all injured.

Ronaldo in press conference "Dream with being to title and to mark goals" In the Ronaldo season it appeared for the first time in press conference. Many things are those that it knows clearly. That "it dreams about playing", that his relation with Capello is "spectacular" and that maintains the bet of the thirty goals. "The one that it wants to bet with me that he does it". he returns to the calls and the Athletico occurs him very well.
You are for playing ninety minutes?
I do not care. I am improving every day very well. Strong but fast Máss and with more resistance. Salts today in press conference before derbi to put more fear. Fear no. They have respect to us and hopefully it can play and mark to them again.
you will be soon to the one hundred percent?
I am very well. Now there are selection parties, so I remain training hard to be to the one hundred percent as soon as possible. The day that míster sees me in conditions I will be enchanted. Dream with the moment for being to title, to mark goals and to play. In addition you are with more desire after the affection of the public. I remained very contented because he was very pretty. Very I am been thankful. What loves the public of me they are goals so the sooner I must return to play.
You can play next to Van Nistelrooy?

I see possible many things, but I am not the trainer. I prefer not to say anything. I am to disposition of míster. I am a group player.
How it is your relation with Capello?
Perfect and wonderful. It was spoken much of this subject. The people and good part of the press wait for the worse thing. Our relation is spectacular. The good thing is to feel important and demanded. We do not have any problem. It said that you had to lower a little more weight. If he said to it... To only it does grace me that always is spoken of my weight.
You maintain the bet of thirty goals?
Very I am trusted so that thus it is. I am convinced that I will arrive. The one that it wants to bet with me that it does it.
Is important the absence of Eto´o?
We felt much its injury like the one of Cicinho. They are things of soccer. Barcelona is going to notice enough its absence. I hope that Cicinho recovers soon like.
How you see Raul?
I have seen him very calm and relaxed. It is not possible to be taken all. If by once you do not go it does not pass anything. It also happens to him to everybody and me. It is necessary to continue working and to mark goals. I must demonstrate that I deserve to be in the selection.
You understand the commotion that has mounted with Raul?
Much is criticized to him and suddenly the selector does not summon to him. It is necessary to leave him calm.
How you have seen the equipment from outside?
Well. One is gaining and that is most important and little by little playing better.
Comes to you well its system?
All the systems come to me well if frame goals.
What has changed in the liking so that it supports so much to you?
I do not know it. I liked much. I do not know reason why it was and I do not know if it has to do with the interest of other clubs. It surprised to me.
What happened in summer with your possible march?
When they looked for to me I said to them that they spoke with Madrid. I never negotiated with no equipment. The sport part never wanted to sell to me. I am contented to be here.
The nonsport part wanted that you were yourself?
What it matters to me is the sport part and is what must be worth. I am football player. He was sure that there was people of the nonsport parcel. Capello said a pair to me of times that had me.
What seems to you the situation of Beckham?
This can happen to him and to anyone.
And Baptista in the Arsenal?
To all we like to play and the situation of Julio is a little complicated. It is going to improve and it must gain his site with patience.
What is what but you like of Capello?
That it demands much every day and. It has a history in unquestionable soccer. It had not worked with him. One of the best ones is safe.
It is passing it bad Robinho?
I think just like I have said of Baptista. It is necessary to conquer the trainer. Mister has its eleven now to title and the others we must gain the titularidad to us. All my life I have gained the things. Nobody nothing has given me.
It surprises the one to you of Agüero or you already knew him?
It does not have to be a surprise. We must be prepared and ready for everything. One never knows what can happen.
It can obsess to Torres to mark to him a goal to him Madrid?
I always like that people mark. He is one of the best forwards than it has in Europe.

Guti Press Conference

"It's not fair that Raúl hasn't been called up to play with Spain, but if he continues to play this well, I'm sure he will be back"

José María Gutiérrez “Guti” commented on Spain coach Luis Aragonés' teamsheet during a press conference. He also talked about Sunday's derby against Atletico Madrid and the good form he's in.

Spain teamsheet
"I don't really have much to say about it other than I think it's unfair that Raúl hasn't been called up. I personally think he is the banner of Real Madrid and the emblem of Spanish football, so in my opinion someone like him should play for the Spanish national team. I'm dissapointed because I would like Raúl to play for Spain, but I can't talk about why Luis Aragonés hasn't chosen him because I don't know the selection criteria he has followed. I hope this doesn't end his run as an international player. This is just another call-up. If Raúl continues to play this well, I'm sure that he will return.

I had little hopes of going. I had my hopes set on playing in the World Cup, but I wasn't called up. I think the door to the national team was shut for me from then on. I have to carry on playing my best at Real Madrid. There's nothing else I can do.

I'm not here to defend Raúl, he can do that himself. We simply haven't been called up and now we must focus on the derby against Atletico Madrid. Sunday's match is what's most important right now.

Physical form
Capello has thought of a scheme that allows me to play, and I'm very happy and grateful for the faith he has in me. I hope the team keeps improving and that we continue winning matches. I feel comfortable on the field. It is better for me to have two players behind me who are doing an important job. This way, I don't have to make too many defensive efforts.

We are all essential to this team. In order to win every competition, a team has to have a diverse quad to allow rotations and different line-ups.

Atletico Madrid
I'm surprised Mijatovic said that a draw would be a good result. I think that drawing against Atletico in the Bernabéu would be a bad result. We are favourites to win the match and have to prove it on the pitch.

Atletico have a better squad than last season and a great coach, who is their strong foundation. We'll see how Atletico perform in forthcoming matches. I think they have a team good enough to fight for something important.

Eto'o's injury
I'm sad because I'm fond of Eto'o. None of us like that a professional player should have to go through this. Barcelona are going to feel his absence because he is their best attacker. I'll try to cheer him up as soon as I can.

CAPELLO WARNS: "THE ATHLETICO IS VERY DANGEROUS ABROAD"

The technician of Real Madrid, Fabio Capello, warned that today the Athletico of Madrid "has very good equipment" and "abroad is very dangerous", assuring in addition that the results of the past do not tell and that "derbis is divided very particular".
"the Athletico of Madrid has very good players to play the counterattack, with much speed in the bands", warned the Italian that it does not grant importance to the fact that the rojiblancos have been having been seven years without winning both in the Bernabéu or to derbis with him in the bench for ten years: "Each party is different, which has happened before does not have anything to do, in these years other trainers have won".
The Italian thinks that derbis "is very particular, different, parties outside the normal thing" reason why do not think that there are favorites and hope that a good party between two equipment is lived that "is improving". "I have seen its party before Seville, an equipment to which is very difficult to play to him and they are improving in each party.
Its greater danger is the speed that they have ", added, trusted that the defensive failures of their equipment are not repeated. "Until the other day we did not have defensive problems, but the other day passed something", confessed. And it is that the Italian thinks that "the players must understand how to put themselves in the field".
"I am contented of which it happens now, because therefore it is possible to be fixed", indicated, stressing that its equipment "can improve much" and without wanting to give tracks on an alignment that not yet it has "determined".
Praises to Aguirre, Agüero and Torres
With respect to his colleague and rival of bench, with which it shared joint press conference in a hotel of Madrid, it considered that "Aguirre has done something very important with the Osasuna and has demonstrated his value". "Now, training to a more important equipment, it has everything to be a great trainer", wished.
In addition, it praised the game of the ' Kun' Agüero and to Torres like standard of the Athletico. "Agüero is young and needs something of time to be accustomed to this soccer. He is a player of much quality, but him a miracle cannot be requested already, although he is a very interesting player ", praised. "When one takes the captain bracelet it's because he has something . This One is a man who gives something more to the equipment ", added on Torres, to emphasize the category of the forward.

Raúl, to Realmadrid.com: "The team is very unified"

The Raúl we all know finally returned on Tuesday when the Whites played Dynamo Kyiv in Matchday 2 of the Champions League. The Real Madrid captain scored two goals and played his best game in months. The Santiago Bernabéu responded with a standing ovation and by chanting his name. Next up, Atletico Madrid; a “special” rival that Raúl tends to perform well against. “Losing on our home pitch is just throwing away points,” said the Madridista captain.

Your time finally came in the most dire of moments.
I have felt good since the start of the season. I scored some goals during the pre-season and it was only a matter of time before I scored in competition. As luck would have it, I held a press coference on Monday, and of course my words were misinterpreted, but on Tuesday we witnessed a great Champions League match. The fans left happy after seeing so many goals. It was an important win for us, but we do have to improve in several aspects. Dynamo also had several chances to score. We're on the right track, and we've been playing well over the last few games, but we need to push even harder. The team is really looking forward to Sunday's derby before we break for national team competition. If we're to remain in the top spots of the table we'll have to beat Atletico.

The final score of the Dynamo Kyiv match is a huge morale boost heading into the derby.
It was a very important win. We saw a bit of everything: goals, pretty plays...exactly what the Bernabéu wants. But every match is different. They made it very easy for us at times and we took advantage.

The derby and Raúl González Blanco go hand-in-hand.
It's a very special rivalry match. You see fans from both sides on the streets several days before the game. This game means a lot because I used to be an Atletico Madrid fan and I played there. Now I play for Real Madrid, and my first goal here came against Atletico. There is always a lot riding on these matches, and they always tend to be emotional nail-biters. We've seen some great games between these two teams, and we hope everything transpires as normally as possible; from the fans entering the Stadium to the game itself. We are the favourites to win.

The team continues to build confidence.
Yes, we do as we play each game. It's still September, but it's obvious we can win a title or two. We cannot make any mistakes in La Liga. There are several other teams walking a fine line as well. Losing on our home pitch is just throwing away points.

And you're not worried about anything on a personal level.
I'll be calm until Sunday. We have to get ready. The season just started, but I am very optimistic that things will go our way. We'll go through some tough times, but the team is very unified and we all believe everything will turn out the way we hope.

The current contract of the former England captain expires at the end of this season, and it the imminent talks will be the first with Real's new regime.

The ex-Manchester United man earns a reported £4 million a year in wages, but could be available on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season, putting his representatives in a strong bargaining position as thy seek attractive terms for a two-year extension.

New Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon reckons Beckham is close to signing an extension, but this is the first time actual talks have been held.

Calderon is keen to retain Beckham because of the player's global appeal.

And although coach Fabio Capello has left Beckham on the bench for the last three matches, he also wants to keep th player at the Bernabeu.

Calderon last week told the club's official website: "Beckham's new contract will be sorted out in the next 15 to 20 days, because the club and coach Fabio Capello are very pleased with him."

Raul González: "THEY WANTED ME TO RETIRE"

Captain of Real Madrid, confessed after being the great protagonist of the European made goals one to the Dynamo of Kiev and to become maximum artilleryman of the history of League of Champions, that "has disconnected of everything" in the last months, in that says that he spends "all his energy in training"
Happy by his encounter with the goal, after his two so many of last night before the Dynamo of Kiev, Raul sinceró in an ample interview in Madrid Wave in which he confessed his suffering by the bad last times, was deluded and convinced to gain titles with Fabio Capello and reflected on his future in the Spanish selection. "I finished contented by my friends, relatives and fans.
"I received many calls and messages of people who suffer with me and had desire to see mark me. I am very well, is necessary to continue fighting to be between the great ones. In this club everything is importance and is necessary to be prepared to give the face ", said. "a long time ago that it did not mark of official form and to do two he was pretty. I enjoyed and the dedication was for my family, my children. This morning was contentments by the gesture that I dedicated to them ", remembered.
The fact that always note towards Raul is had, according to the player, an explanation: "the exigency is high and is fault mine because I have been twelve years in the eye of the hurricane. Receipt critics and other supports their to me. In the last months I have disconnected of which it is written and one says, I have spent all my energy in training best the possible thing because it seemed that with 29 years I do not have anything to do in soccer. They want to me to retire and before that lack of respect I have continued working knowing that, like everything in the life, they are cycles ".
In spite of silence and respect that Raul has kept, one feels hurt. "Many things hurt when one works and suffers in each training. Attempt to be at the best level, is not always obtained, go bad gusts of wind but they are many years and I do not have to demonstrate nothing, not only by my numbers but reason why they have enjoyed my trajectory ", indicated. "I can play badly or or but there is an important race, and sometimes the information are not most suitable. Much people raised to me very high and when these they try to lower to you ", she added.
He does not promise number of goals
Raul never promises number of goals for the season because it likes more to speak collectively than individual. "I am convinced that Real Madrid is going to gain a title. If only there are two players at great level and we are not a set we will not gain anything. What wants the madridista is to raise titles at the end of the season and we are in the way ", commented. "the equipment is going to go to more. Still we are not at our maximum level. We knew that we would suffer in September, as it happened in Lyon before an equipment a physical point over us. At the end of October we will be in an optimal level ", needed.
Raul also confessed that he has never crossed itself to him the mind to retire. "They are complicated situations in which you surround by friends and family because at set level the thing has not marched well. Real Madrid must win and in the last years we have undergone much with so many changes. I have undergone much by my desire to win. Although it wanted to be at my better level is possible that there is not it been and I have accused many things that have happened to club level ".
Better now than for ten years
The international explained why recently it said that it has been better now than for ten years. "They said that it had less spark and I understand it like physical state, resistance, power and speed. Ten years ago I happened through one of my worse moments with an injury of pubis. I happened to be youthful to the first equipment and my body has been evolving. I injured myself and in three months I have been able to train things that in nine years I could not. Now I am far better, I have a physical state that I arrive at those balls that months ago did not arrive".
Possible absence in the selection
As far as his possible absence in the next list of the selector Aragonese Luis, Raul indicated that nothing knows and that has not spoken with him from the party in Ireland. Raul denied that there is some difference between both, he is more, he said: "we have engaged in a dialog like always and an example is that when we reached five in the morning from Ireland, I was in the hotel one hour speaking with him of soccer and the past". However, it would understand not to be summoned. "he is the selector and it must look for the best thing. It is necessary to let to him choose with freedom and when it gives his list to be until death. Spanish soccer is gambling much and we are suffering because there is a great group to make something important and it distorts to him to turn aside itself ", indicated. As far as the future of the selection, Raul comment that "after the illusion of the World-wide one is complicated to begin a phase of classification. Nobody imagined that we would lose in Ireland, after being winning, but good looking to that we are going to win in Sweden and will be in l Eurocopa. Suffering but we will be ". In addition, on Aragonese, it needed: "we have been pending of the situation that has been lived but I see him with much force and enabled to remove advanced it. It needs the support all ". Raul also had words for Capello. "he taught to me to that there is to really train because is as it gambles. It is necessary to watch back and to see that we have not been an equipment that fights by titles. There is a renovation in all the positions of the club and is necessary to construct a base to try to be champion, to return to be competitive. With this project we are going it to be. We will make the good soccer according to pass the parties. We are convinced that in the middle of December there will be change of no trainer nor we will be to fifteen points of Barcelona. We will fight by the title in March ".

Respect to the Athletico
The next rival of Real Madrid is the Athletico of Madrid in Santiago Bernabéu, and with the education and serenity that Raul characterizes, she commented: "I only have towards them good words. They have a great trainer, with character, a great group that he will have to connect, but already have obtained three victories. It will be a difficult party in which we are going to suffer because they have great players. Aguero will be very good when it is becomed aclimated and Maxi is marking the difference ". Equal admiration went to Fernando Torres, to that unites to him a great friendship . Not in vain, the athletico players always defends to him of a felt form. "He is reciprocal. It seems to me the best player, of great quality. One feels athletico and he defends it until death. He has a present and a very great future. The moment will arrive at which gafe against the Real Madrid breaks his and it marks to us, but hopefully that we take the victory ". Sunday Raul will return to the Bernabéu and until then it will be able to recall the ovación of and feeling the affection of the fan yesterday. "It is of the prettiest things of yesterday. Notes when they suffer with me and they wish that the things leave to me. I have never had one tooted great one because what demands the Bernabéu is that the equipment wins, everything, runs and works. The attempt to occur. Nobody doubt of my commitment. I am life law, every day has left less but with 29 years my retirement I see it far, I have much to say and to contribute ".

Ruud, happier than ever

Father and Great scorer: "I can't wait for the derby"

Ruud Van Nistelrooy has two reasons to be the happiest man on Earth, and his face spoke a thousand words. Not only did he become a father on Tuesday morning, but the Dutch striker scored two goals against Dynamo Kyiv in last night's Champions League match. Real Madrid face cross-town rival Atletico Madrid on Sunday, and Van Nistelrooy wants to add more goals to the books in what he thinks will be a "very special match."

Do you still have some goals left in you for Sunday?
The derby is always special. Yesterday is over and now we're just thinking about Sunday. I can't wait to play this game."

Do you like the idea of playing alongside Ronaldo?
It's definitely possible. Ronaldo is a great attacker, but there are also others like Robinho and Reyes. Having so many options is a big advantage.

Are you more comfortable playing in attack by yourself or with another forward?
Scholes used to play behind me at Manchester, and we played with three forwards in Holland. I am the typical centre forward and I like to play as far up as possible.

You have been in every starting eleven since you joined Real Madrid. Do you think this might change when Ronaldo returns?
I don't know. You have to ask the coach. This team is full of great players and it's always important to train hard for matches. The coach is the decision-maker.

Beckham wanted to take last night's penalty kick?
Before the game started I was told that I would take any penalty kicks. Beckham is my friend, and he takes free kicks. I wasn't even aware that people wanted Raúl to take it.

How do you find Raúl?
Everyone knows how good Raúl is, and I'm sure he will continue down the right track.

You won 5-1 last night, but there were several mistakes in defence.
They had three or four good scoring chances. We attack a lot, meaning we might leave the opponent some open spaces. We have a strong defence this year.

Who do you worry about most on Atletico Madrid?
They are a strong team and I would highlight their talent. They signed some great players and are only one point under us in the table. I'm most familiar with [Fernando] Torres.

What can you say about Torres?
He proved he was in top form during the World Cup. He is young, smart, and very fast with and without the ball. I consider him a complete player.

Do you think he could be successful in England?
Yes, I do. He is good enough to play in England, Holland, Italy, or Germany.

Are you excited about being the League's top scorer?
We have to take each game one at a time, and that's all I really think about.

It looks like Manchester don't miss you very much.
I have been watching their Champions League matches. I have a lot of friends there and I speak to them every so often. They are doing well and winning. They have Saha, who is the top scorer in the Champions League.

What stands out most about Atletico Madrid?
All derbies are special. These matches always tend to be pretty equal. Atletico are a talented team. It will be a good test for us.

Who do you like more, Capello or Ferguson?
They are the two most experienced coaches on Earth. They are similar in the manner they relate to the players. But, I get along better with Capello.

Have your teammates told you anything about what the derby means?
No. In Holland and England, Atletico are know as a great Club with a long history. I don't know the ins-and-outs of their history within Spain, but it's insignificant heading into the match.

Raúl captures Capello's heart

Fabio Capello's revamped Real Madrid CF are on their way in UEFA Champions League Group E after a comfortable win against FC Dynamo Kyiv. Raúl González ended a long scoring drought with two goals, a number matched by Ruud van Nistelrooy with another arrival from an English club, José Antonio Reyes, also on target. To complete the celebrations at the Santiago Bernabéu, Ronaldo came off the bench for his first competitive appearance of the season after knee surgery. For Dynamo, though, a second heavy defeat in the group has left coach Anatoli Demianenko in introspective mood.

Fabio Capello, Madrid coach
Raúl is a very important player in this team and not just for his goals. Tonight he scored in an important game. Ronaldo needs time to improve his physical condition but it is good to see him again in a competitive match. We need to improve many things - Dynamo had chances in this match but we have the skill of scoring goals. We always have to evaluate our opponents. Dynamo could be a dangerous team playing more attacking football.

Anatoli Demianenko, Dynamo coach
Madrid are a very strong team but we made big mistakes. Our defence was very weak tonight and Real exploited that. I need to watch the video of the game to reach my own conclusions. My players think this is the way to play but I think they must fight more. If a player doesn't want to play he won't do it but if he wants to, he must do it well. Real are a very good team and I think that they will probably play in the final.

Real Madrid 5-1 Dynamo Kyiv: Raúl and Van Nistelrooy score twice; Ronaldo returns home

The loss to Olympique Lyonnais two weeks ago is long forgotten, and Real Madrid are now in the second spot of Group E of the Champions League after blowing out Dynamo Kyiv 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Van Nistelrooy celebrated the birth of his daughter with two goals and Ronaldo enjoyed several minutes of playing time in his return to the field of play. It couldn't have been a better appetizer before Sunday's derby against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid made their Champions League home debut with the primary objective of leaving behind the bad taste left after losing to Olympique Lyonnais in Matchday 1. And boy did they ever! There were several changes to the Madridista starting eleven. Avaro Mejía replaced Cicinho at right fullback after the Brazilian tore his anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday's League victory over Betis. Capello didn't want to toy with the Ramos-Cannavaro connection, as their presence in the middle of the defensive line is proving very fruitful for the Italian coach. The duo have allowed one goal in the first four games of national competition.

The two teams spent the opening minutes testing the waters. Real Madrid dominated, but Dynamo Kyiv stood attentive for a counterattack. The Ukrainian side created the first threat of the match when Shatskikh came face to face with Casillas, but the sure-handed Real Madrid keeper, who had several more great saves, kept the scoreboard level. Nearly 15 minutes into the game, Roberto Carlos almost put the home side ahead with a free kick after Guti was fouled just outside the box. But the celebrations weren't long in coming, and what a better way to get the party started.

Dad opens the scoreboard
Diarra was just as sensational as he was on Saturday against Betis. The Mali native crossed a brilliant ball into the box for Van Nistelrroy, but an aware Shovkovskiy made the save despite the Dutch striker having beaten his marker. But the recent father didn't make the home fans wait much longer. Reyes' shot was blocked by the defence, but the football landed at the feet of Roberto Carlos. The Ukrainian keeper left the ball at a dead stop in front of an open goal, and Van Nistelrooy netted the easy score, which he dedicated to his daughter who was born in Madrid on Tuesday morning. The Dutchman tried to surprise Shovkovskiy three minutes later, but the ball sailed just wide of the post.

As the minutes ticked by, Madrid steadily moved forward in search of more reasons to celebrate. A goal by Raúl was the perfect cause. Reyes centered a spectacular pass to the far post that the captain headered into the net. His 52nd goal in European competition drew him level with Shevchenko as the continent's top goal scorer, but they shared the lead for only a few minutes. Oddy enough, it was Raúl who scored against Dynamo the last time these two teams met two seasons ago.

The Whites were devouring Dynamo Kyiv with suffocating pressure on the Ukrainian defence and great ball movement. Meanwhile, the visitors tried to take advantage of the open spaces between the lines, but all their efforts died when the ball would reach their innocent attackers and the presence of an undelible Iker Casillas. The Madridistas scored their third goal in injury time. Reyes met Diarra's center pass and struck it perfectly with his left foot to score.

Raúl, all-time top scorer of the Champions League
The second half began with a lethargic Real Madrid and a Dynamo goal just two minutes after kickoff. Milevskiy made the most of a bad Casillas block to score the goal of honour at the Bernabéu. Van Nistelrooy responded one minute later by headering a Beckham cross that Shovkovskiy saved on the goal line. The Madridistas' total domination produced the fourth goal after an individual play by Raúl, who was left alone in front of the goalkeeper. It was the second goal of of the night for Real Madrid's captain and the Champions League all-time top scorer.

Raúl's second must have made Van Nistelrooy jealous, and the latter wanted his brace in the European clash. The Dutch striker took on Shovkovskiy, and the Ukrainian keeper tackled him with both hands. Penalty, red card, Van Nistelrooy's second, and a standing ovation from the Bernabéu crowd. Dynamo and Shatskikh, the visitor's most oustanding player in attack, continued to have goes, but neither the defence nor Casillas were going to let them spoil the Madridista party. Capello wanted to reward his players, and in one move, the Bernabéu errupted for both Van Nistelrooy and his replacement, Ronaldo, who was given a great welcome home. The Brazilian star had 20 minutes of playing time, and they were enough to show that he's not 100% recovered, but that he's as hungry as ever to starting tallying goals.

CICINHO CASE:Real Madrid only can search in Spanish Liga !

The serious injury of Cicinho has caused that the draft machine of Real Madrid starts up again. The technician, Fabio Capello, affirmed that "we are seeing in the world how many players are available and if they are good. It is difficult to file players now and we are not going to spend money in a player who is not worth for Real Madrid ", he affirmed. What perhaps then Capello did not know is that the club will only be able to file players of Spanish Liga, since the regulation of competitions says that in case of injury it only burdens the substitute will be able to arrive if it does not need "the international transference".
The players of Spanish Liga in which Real Madrid been has interested have been Alves (Sevilla), Ayala (Valencia) and Andrade (Deportivo), although will be difficult to draft them. Then, it would be necessary to wait until the 1 of January, day that opens the winter market.

The ABSENCES OF CICINHO SALGADO MADE Raul Bravo ESSENTIAL !

Facing the Dynamo of Kiev with The injuries of Cicinho and Míchel Salgado turned Raul Bravo from a habitual comodín of the equipment, in an essential soccer player in the second party of Liga de Campeones, playing with a Dynamo of Kiev who arrives at the Stadium of Santiago Bernabéu with the losses of Rebrov and Rotan.
Capello follows the Queiroz style and could place to the canterano in the center of the rear and move Sergio Ramos straight to the lateral, position in which it feels to taste in the Spanish selection with Aragonese Luis. Wich Ramos were the holder in the last World-wide Cop of Germany.
The Raul returns to initial eleven. Reyes and Guti could accompany him, in front of Emerson-Diarra, dupla fixes and of Capello to the average center this season unremovable. Guti and Cassano gamble a position. In the bench it will be Robinho, that improves its physical training conditions after an irregular preseason. Robinho, if he play in the second time, will try to mark with Real Madrid its first goal in Europe. To date he has played eight parties without luck arrives. In the list of summoned it appears the canterano Javi Garci'a like great newness.

The Dynamo, without Rebrov and Rotan While,
A needed Dynamo Kiev traveled east Monday course to Madrid with the important loss of the veteran Serguéi Rebrov, one of the black beasts of the white equipment in its visits to the ucraniana capital, and the absence also of the international Ruslán Rotan. The establishment integrated by 20 players will train in afternoon of Monday in the stage Santiago Bernabéu, after which the trainer of the Dynamo, Anatoli Demiánenko, will face the press.
After its defeat in the first day of Liga de Campeones, the Dynamo arrives to the capital from Spain with the necessity to score, if it does not want to lose all option to classify itself for the second phase. The runner-up of the ucraniana league arrives "hairdo", since after a hopeful beginning, has harvested two draw in the last three parties of league. On the other hand, like in the last started off, Demianenko seems determined to leave letón Maris Verpakovskis, reason why it could play with a single forward, Shatskikh. The main offensive tricks of the Brazilian Dynamo are the Diogo Corner, that plays like a false midfield player, and the fine Carlos Strap, one of the maximum goleadores of the equipment. Most probable it is than the Dynamo plays with a town center of the field, and it resorts solely in the second part to Verpakovskis and the young person Artem Milevskiy, of 21 years, in case that the marker is adverse.

Capello: "Raul is a captain really and an example to follow"

Fabio Capello returned to defend the qualities of Raul González, of whom it affirmed that "he is a captain really" and a "example to follow" by its spirit of work for the equipment. "it is playing or, needs the goal, is truth, but it works very or. It seems to me a player who has incredible desire, likes much to train and to play. It is an example for all the companions, is a captain really. A very important player ", declared. Raul will return to the titularidad before the Dynamo of Kiev. It is a conclusion that is obtained after the press conference of Capello, that let glimpse that the suplencia of the captain before the Real Betis, was by rotations and after one week in which hairdo arrived.
"a fundamental party"
On the other hand, Capello affirmed that Real Madrid confronts "a fundamental party" before the Dynamo of Kiev, an equipment that emphasized is more dangerous when it plays of visitor. "the Dynamo of Kiev is an equipment that when it plays abroad is dangerous because it makes the con well, it plays fast and are good in córners by his good closing of head", it explained. Moved away of that they accuse Real Madrid to win playing the soccer badly, Capello emphasized the merit that it has to lead the classification of League tied with Barcelona, without being still to the maximum of its possibilities. "ground not to read critics but them acceptance. Like more to speak I with the players and to train them. And I believe that what we have obtained is important. To be first after four days with a new equipment that is forming. The players are working very well and are deluded ".
He requests more time
And returned to be unmarked of the inevitable comparison with Barcelona. "They are an equipment that is known well, they have been three years together and they have a very high level. We are making an equipment and needed a little time. My players must know themselves better. Followed two Barcelona is playing well and for that reason Ligas has gained and is champion of Europe, but in each equipment it is necessary to value his things ". Capello remains with the work of its players and admits that "miracles in two months cannot be done", but it defends of which accuse Real Madrid to think only about defending. "In each party we have many opportunities to put goals. Before the Betis we had four or five and we have prevented on the contrary to be dangerous. I saw a great party in Barcelona yesterday and he only had five occasions and we had four abroad ". Also he explained the few minutes that the Brazilian Robinho is receiving. "He is an extraordinary player, of great quality, is working and he will arrive his moment. Each party is necessary to choose eleven and they request Robinho to me other Beckham, Guti. It is necessary to make rotations. We took only four parties of League and one of League of Champions, does lack a long time ", said.
Looking for a substitute for Cicinho
Finally, Capello indicated that he wants a new defensive reinforcement, but noticed that, as it happened during the preseason, it does not love players of average level. Before it prefers to wait for the recovery of Míchel Salgado and to locate straight in the lateral one when it is necessary to Sergio Ramos or Alvaro Mejía. "we are seeing in the world whichever players are available and if they are good. It is difficult to file players now and we are not going to spend money in a player who is not worth for Real Madrid ", affirmed.

Raúl González Blanco:"The goals will come"

Real Madrid star, Raúl González Blanco is satisfied with his work as well as with that of the team. As a goal-scorer, he knows putting the ball in the net is important, but he isn't worried about his scoreless drought. "The goals will come," he assured. With the Champions League clash against Dynamo right around the corner, the forward stated, "After losing to Lyon, we have to win if we want it to be up to us." Raúl in his purest state.

Good patch leading up to the Ukrainians
“Winning is more important than anything else. After losing to Lyon, losing again would put our chances of moving on the next round in serious jeopardy. It's a crucial match. We have to win if we want it to be up to us in the Steaua tie.”

Recovered
Yes, I am 100% better. I got some playing time against Betis and I trained well on Sunday and Monday. The coach decides who he's going to play. I was ready for Betis, and now I'm ready for Dynamo.”

He wants more
We've gotten off to a good starty in the League, but this teams still needs to give more. We are excited to be at the top of the table, even though it's still early. We hope we can make up more ground in the table in our upcoming matches. We played a good match against Betis and it's always hard to win there. We controlled the ball for most of the match, but we suffered a little towards the end.”

Barcelona
“Barcelona are champions of the League and the Champions League. They are playing well, but there are other strong teams like Valencia, Sevilla, us, and even Atletico. We'll be at the top of the table when all is said and done. I don't play for Barcelona so I can't talk about their pre-season, but they have a strong squad and they are definitely a team to take into account.”

Patience
“We knew it would be a complicated start with so many new players, but we're managing pretty well. The team is improving and we'll be where we want to be by October or November. The fans will be happy. We're getting there. We have new players and a new coach. We are pleased with our work, but we can do better. Wins boost our confidence and our morale is high. We have to win these next two games before the stop for national team play.”

The national team
“Being on the national team isn't my decision. I'm not going to talk about what I think. There's a national team coach, and there won't be any problems when he announces his list of players. It's his decision whether or not I'm on the team. I know what Luis Aragonés thinks, I know what Real Madrid think, and I don't see any hidden agendas. I'm an athlete, not a fortune-teller.”

Conjecture
“Everything depends on how we do tomorrow. If we win, it's up to us when we play Steaua. Dynamo would have a tough time with two losses, but we have to beat them first. They aren't as good as they used to be, but they are always a complicated team. We'll give them a close look tomorrow when we watch video of them, but it definitely won't be an easy game.”

Just another team member
“I don't anything to complain about. I play for Real Madrid and there are 22 or 23 of us who want to play. All I can do is train as hard as I can. I haven't played as a starter, but it's not a big deal because I was injured. All that is important is that Real Madrid win. We each feel like an important piece of this team.”

Goals
“I feel phenomenal. I had a good pre-season, and I have a lot more rhythm. I have to continue working hard because there is always room for improvement. The goals will come. My position always gets scoring opportunities. I think I've got that spark. I'm better than I was 10 years ago, even two or three years ago. Everyone loves to score, especially at the Bernabéu, but things are what they are. I am working well and the coach is happy. I have to accept my new position. I have to improve and take advantage of my opportunities, because I am sure the goals will return.”

Reyes on the offensive:"I just want to play, no matter what the position"

Real Madrid's José Antonio Reyes was the special guest on El día del fútbol, a show on Spanish television's Canal + hosted by Nacho Aranda. The Real Madrid player analysed Saturday's match against Betis, assured viewers that he is very happy at Real Madrid, and reiterated his desire to play on Capello's team "no matter what the position."

Match evaluation
The Ruiz de Lopera Stadium is a hard place to play in, but people like to play there. Things turned out well, we won, and, on a personal note, I felt good. I had a clear chance of scoring, but Doblas did a great job. I really wanted to score in that stadium, but it wasn't meant to be. We had several opportunities at the start of the second half, but we couldn't finish. Betis spent the 45 minutes on their half of the pitch, and that's not what their fans want.

I just wanted to play. I didn't care if it was in attack, on the left, or wherever. Despite what I may have thought at first, I am feeling quite comfortable playing along the right wing.

I don't have to prove anything. I have already said it and I will continue to do so. I proved myself at Sevilla and then in England.

Leaders
The way the team played instills confidence. Being at the top of the table or in the third spot doesn't matter at this stage. What we're interested in is finishing the season like this.

Capello
He is a serious coach and his personality is very good for this team. We are able to talk to him, and that's very important.

Cicinho's injury
He knew right away that it was serious. I was about one metre away, and he complained a lot when the doctor touched his knee. What a shame.

Guti
He is a player that should always play for Madrid.

Teams to beat
There are more rivals than just Barcelona. There is also Valencia and Sevilla, who are having greats starts to the season.

Adjusted to Madrid
I've adjusted very fast. I'm very comfortable here. I'm living where I want to live and playing where I want to play. I will never forget the day I was presented. It was unforgettable.

Mijatovic: "We can maybe bring another lateral"

Sport director of Real Madrid, Pedja Mijatovic, considers that its equipment goes "of less to more" in all the senses, after adding in Seville his third consecutive victory in League and marching tied to points (10) with the FC Barcelona, leader, and the Valencia. "We want to change the mentality and we are in good way", affirmed Mijatovic, that recognized the possibility that the club approaches the draftee of a lateral one to replace to the Brazilian Cicinho, injured of gravity before the Betis and that could be remote of lands of game around six months. Mijatovic defended in addition the exposition to Fabio Capello, to which it does not consider defensive, and praised the good work of the double titular pivot, Diarra and Emerson, in Ruiz de Lopera. "Before the Betis we played with four very offensive players and the Real Madrid that wants to obtain Capello is a Real winning Madrid because in addition the three last years we have not amused ourselves", it commented in declarations to the program ' Made the rounds of Spanish Television. The sport director recognized that the injury of Cicinho is "a strong decepsion" and that the solution is "into the hands of the trainer". In addition he assured that Guti will have "much importance" this season. "We played very well, but still it needs a pair of parties because part of the preseason with the injury of the hand was lost", it explained. On the other hand, Mijatovic emphasized the desire of the club to renew to David Beckham, defined to Kaká as "a great objective" for the next season and affirmed that probably they throw in lack an organizer.

Cannavaro: "Team spirit is most important"

"It's a matter of time," said Fabio Cannavaro, who thinks the team is improving gradually because the new players are beginning to fully adapt and the whole team has gotten used to the new coach. He said the most important thing is the team spirit amongst the squad, who are excited about winning and playing. The Italian defender said he had a bad aftertaste from the match against Olympique Lyonnais and that he wished to wash it down by defeating Dynamo Kiev.

Were the three points the most imprtant thing in the match against Betis?
We played a good match. We won by playing well and our frame of mind was the right one. The crowd liked that.

Real Madrid were more into the game this time.
We are excited about winning and playing. Many people criticise us right now, but we are calm nevertheless because we know we are a good and solid team. It's a matter of time.

On Tuesday you play against Dynamo Kiev.
We played appalingly in Lyon. On Tuesday we have to show people we can win in Europe.

Cicinho's injury is very bad news. Do you think the Club will have to sign a right back?
We have Salgado, Raúl Bravo, Sergio Ramos... This team has many versatile players. We aren't worried.

How is Cicinho?
He's unhappy, which is normal. He's got a serious knee injury and he's only 25. I hope he recovers soon. He was very happy and cheeful before this happened, but it must have been fate. These are the dangers that lurk over footballers.

The centre back defense wasn't up to scratch in Lyon.
Yes, but that's normal. We will play 50 to 60 matches this year and won't be able to be equally fit in all of them. Physical conditions were very different in the Lyon match. These things happen when a team at 100% faces a team at 50%. We defenders are relaxed because we know we can play good football.

Did you expect such a hard season opening?
No, I didn't, but I soon realised it was natural in a team that has so many new players and a new coach. We're going through an adaptation process and we need to get over it soon.

Do you think the team has to play better?
It's always important to improve on anything we do. A team's principal aim should be to always improve.

Do you think we will see stylish football with Capello as coach?
Juventus played stylish and beautiful football the two years Capello trained them. The most important thing is to have team spirit.

Do you need Ronaldo to play again?
Yes, of course. He's a phenomenal player. Ronaldo is different from anybody else.

The team has only conceded one goal in four matches. Do you think other teams will have a hard time trying to score goals against Real Madrid?
I do because we are hungry for the ball, which is very important.

After scoring the goal against Betis it seemed you pressured less. Were you saving energies for Tuesday?
We needed to score the second goal in order to relax a bit. Winning allows you to stay calm and prepare well for the next match.

What do you know about Dynamo Kiev?
Eastern European teams are always powerful. Kiev run a lot and are a very solid team.

Next Sunday will be the derby against Atletico Madrid.
I'm curious to seeing how it is. I guess it's the same as in Italy, where fans want to win by five or six goals and the whole atmosphere is pumped with adrenaline. That match is very important, but for the moment we have to stay focused on Tuesday.

Valencia and Barcelona face each other tonight. Who do you think will be more dangerous this season?
I think Barça will be because they are full of euphoria for having won the League and the Champions League. They do everything right. I think Sevilla and Valencia are candidates to winning the League.

Betis-Realmadrid 0-1: Diarra, first goal in style

A goal by Mahamadou Diarra, his first donning the White shirt, secured the three points for his team in a new demonstration of collective commitment. The Malian international, Guti and Reyes were the most outstanding players. In spite of the push and shove of Betis, Real Madrid's defensive soundness was once again patent and praiseworhty. This win allows Real Madrid to climb to the top of the League table provisionally.

The beginning of the match offered no respite. In the space of five minutes, Real Madrid made a clear stance on the Ruiz de Lopera pitch which, by the way, was in a good state in spite of the two heavy downpours suffered by Seville just hours before the beginning of the game. Reyes, first, and a Betis defender, minutes later, who blocked a perfect one-two between Reyes and Cassano, anticipated Diarra's strike. Six minutes into the match, Real Madrid's defensive midfielder headed into the back of the net a perfect cross by Cicinho, the former's first goal with the White jersey -tonight, charcoal grey.

The goal barely made a dent in the development of the game and everything continued as it had been up to that point: clear domination by Real, although the local fans tried to push their team forward incessantly. Diarra was omnipresent in his defensive endeavour in midfield and Guti distributed the ball in attack with logical precision. Everything Real Madrid were doing up ahead smelled of danger. Reyes, who once again played down the right wing in spite of being a left-footer, was plugged in and was once and again the most incisive and creative player of Capello's side. He almost scored twice, but was left yearning for his second goal with the Whites all throughout the encounter.

Granitic defense
In defense, the game was almost placid for Cicinho, Cannavaro, Sergio Ramos and Roberto Carlos (500 games with Real Madrid). The only opportunity in the first thirty minutes for the green-and-whites came by way of Brazilian striker Sobis following a mistake by Cannavaro, but no score.

The worst news of the match, Cicinho's injury, came in the 28th minute. The Brazilian fullback twisted his knee as he attempted to deflect a pass. The first tests performed on the player bring the worst news, as it seems he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament. Raúl Bravo replaced the Brazilian, with Capello opting for this all-chore boy on the right instead of Sergio Ramos. Bravo did well and the defense continued to abort all attempts by Betis, who only produced a header on goal by Juanito after a corner kick in the last fifteen minutes of the first half. Real Madrid were perfectly positioned behind, displaying a granitic disposition that absolutely discouraged the Sevillian attackers.

Reyes and Cassano, almost always assisted by Guti, were the daggers on which the team relied to kill-off the game in counter attack, whether with own goals or setting Van Nistelrooy up. But the result stayed put as both teams retired to the dressing room for the halftime break.

Real Madrid sought to settle the match for good with their second ASAP. In the first minute of the second act, Cassano gave it to Van Nistelrooy on a silver platter, but the Dutchman lost the one-on-one against local stopper Doblas. Five minutes later, it was the Italian international himself who failed to stick his boot in after a quick, ground-ball cross by Reyes. The 2-0 was impending… or so it seemed.

Raúl and Beckham on stage
Betis resumed their disappearance act in attack as the defensive grid of Real Madrid, with four defenders and a defensive midfielder pair starring Emerson and Diarra, came shining through. And if not there was always Casillas, who had little work but perfomed impeccably. Fabio Capello started rotating the team halfway through the second half, seeking an influx of freshness in the form of Raúl and Beckham for Cassano and Reyes, respectively. Real either lost some push with the substitutions, or more likely, Betis gained speed and power with the introduction of Capi, Xisco, and Odonkor: a playmaker, a foward and a fast winger. Still, the defensive wall of the Madridistas offered no visible cracks for the Sevillians to penetrate.

In the final stretch of the match, the fans attempted a last and desperate bout of support that might give their players wings, but Real Madrid managed to steal the ball and interrupt the flow of the game time and again. Diarra, once again, multiplied his physical display and effort in benefit of the team, stealing the ball incessantly and driving the boys of Betis absolutely mad. The last minutes -including a six-minute injury-time extension- were a succession of fouls, yellow cards, and a red card for local defender Nano after elbowing Diarra in a fly-ball. Capello's men secured the three-point booty to take home to Madrid and displayed fantastic teamwork. Looking good!

Cicinho seriously injured v Betis

It was minute 28 of the away match against Betis when Cicinho hit the ground after deflecting a pass and started making clear signs of extreme pain. Although it orginally looked like it might have been the ball that hit him, it was obvious seconds later that it was something far more serious. The first medical tests performed on-site by Doctor Hernández confirm our worst fears as he suspects that the fullback might have acutely torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his right knee. The Brazilian player will undergo new tests and scans on Sunday to determine the extent and seriousness of the injury and check if this is the only knee injury he sustained this evening. If the initial diagnosis is confirmed, the player is set for a six-to-eight month recovery period.

Meanwhile, Roberto Carlos' left sinus had to be stitched up after sustaining an elbow blow from Betis defender Juanito inside the box of the Whites. The Madridista fullback had to leave the pitch on the mobile stretcher one minute before the final whistle because he was getting dizzy.

Capello satisfied with the good performance of his players against Betis

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello is known for being straightforward at all times. He is the first to say if his team has played well or badly, and he is always right. According to him, yesterday's match against Betis was "a very good game." Capello praised his players' efforts and tactical work.

"We suffered in the last 15 minutes, and Betis managed to be troublesome for us. I think tonight we played a good match against a solid team. Sometimes you have to think about who you are going to play against. I also think we had more chances of scoring the second goal."

"We can play with Guti in the midfield. He is a very inventive player. I think we played a very tactical match and that the players gave their best effort. We still have to focus more on attacking, but we are better than in previous matches and we are much more organised. I think this was obvious today."

"I have to wait for the medical report on Cicinho's injury before I can comment on it."

Roberto Carlos: 500 matches with Real Madrid

This is Roberto Carlos' 11th season at Real Madrid. The Brazilian defender has been at the Club for over a decade in which he has been very successful, as well as a starter under the four coaches the team's had in all that time. Tonight, he will play his 500th match with the Whites against Betis in Seville. Congratulations Roberto.

In the summer of 1996, Fabio Capello started his first tenure as Real Madrid coach and requested the signing of a player he considered to be one of the best left backs in the world. He was proved to be right as the years went by and Roberto Carlos started winning titles for the team, eventually being considered the King of the left wing -the left back position had no boundaries for him. The entire footballing world couldn't do anything against his unstoppable free kicks and his innate strength and potency.

Ten years later, the same stars meet again at the same place. Last week, Fabio Capello saw how that fast player he signed ten years ago played his 350th Spanish League match against Real Sociedad. Tonight, he will be a witness to Roberto Carlos playing his 500th match with Real Madrid against Betis.

As a celebration, Spanish sports journal Diario AS paid a deserved tribute to the Brazilian star, who was very surprised to learn that he would be playing his 500th match. Showcasing his fantastic sense of humour, Roberto Carlos said, "The match against Betis will be my 500th?Geez, I get so tired after every match that I thought I must have played 800! I feel well and I want to play. I'll be a starter if the coach wants me to. I'll tell you something else: I may be a veteran, but I feel like a kid..."

Roberto Carlos has lived many experiences at Real Madrid; many have been marvelous and some not so good, but Roberto Carlos mainly thinks of a present and a future filled with triumphs. "I'm sure that we'll win titles this year," said the defender. "The team is fresher every day. All we have to do is adapt to our positioning because we have many new players. We have to be patient with Capello's style. He wants a more straightforward style."

Roberto Carlos mentioned that the whole squad is willing to fight to help Real Madrid recover their Spanish and European dominance. "I'm sure we will beat Betis if we play like we trained on Wednesday and Friday," said the player. "We're all working very hard. People will see a much improved Real Madrid against Betis. I'm sure the Bernabéu fans will enjoy Capello's style in the long run. He's a very good coach, and he likes things to be done well because he takes work very seriously. He thinks that in order to learn anything one has to listen. That's his secret. He's a fantastic guy."

Despite he is about to play his 500th match with the Whites, retirement is the last thing on Roberto Carlos' mind. The defender wishes to win more titles as a Madridista. "Real madrid can make you a hero, a villain, the best player in the world, or a failure," said the Brazilian left back. "I don't want to leave this club. I have a contract ending in June that I would like to extend until 2009, but I will not sign anything until I have played my best football again. I don't want to renew my contract just to have a stroll on the field. Money is important, but it isn't all there is to life."
